Our firm primarily provides advice and guidance to small businesses and employers to help them navigate federal and Hawaii state laws that govern the workplace and relationship between employers and employees, including issues relating to COVID-19 in the workplace, the CARES Act, and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. 

Employment Advising and Counseling:  We have the experience to guide small businesses and employers to achieve an efficient resolution in the areas of wrongful termination,  discrimination, whistle blower retaliation, wage and hour, sexual harassment, wage and hour, and employee benefit issues.   Please note that we do not handle unemployment claims for individuals. 

Workplace Investigations

Our firm has collectively more than 30 years of experience and can assist with workplace investigations relating to allegations of age, race, disability, and gender discrimination issues, disability accommodation issues, claims of harassment, and other compliance issues.

Small Business, Management, Human Resources and Leadership Consulting: We know that small business owners need a blend of legal and business advice when they are starting up their company.  As a result, we blend our legal and business expertise by offering practical business, leadership and human resources consulting.

Employment Policies and Documentation:  Employment handbooks, policies, and appropriate documentation are also an important part of ensuring your business is in compliance with employment laws.  We assist with reviewing and drafting employee handbooks, employment contracts, policy documents and performance management documentation, such as performance improvement plans, written warnings, termination letters and severance agreements.

Employee Trainings:   With our extensive experience with instructional design, online teaching and training in the PhD Learning Design & Technology program, we are able to design and deliver in person trainings and/or create online videos, trainings and courses to meet your business needs.
